The Aljarafe School already has a photovoltaic power plant thanks to Irradia Energía.
At the Aljarafe College (Mairena del Aljarafe, Seville) will generate clean, carbon dioxide-emitting electricity that will largely offset internal electricity consumption. The energy that is not consumed will be fed into the grid and will also contribute to the reduced consumption of energy obtained from fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas), the main cause of climate change.
Thanks to solar energy, the electricity bill of the Aljafare School will decrease, which will help to cushion the investment made. In addition, the school’s managers have also opted to install the necessary elements to measure production and consumption. In this way, students will be able to work and investigate the results of this clean electricity production and become aware of the importance of these techniques for a sustainable energy future.
The Aljarafe School hopes that this pioneering commitment to clean electric energy will be a positive reference for the schools in our area.
