Irradia Energía and its Ecuadorian subsidiary Intienergías Renovables start up the largest grid-connected photovoltaic installation in Cuenca (Ecuador).
The installation located on the roof of the library of the Universidad del Azuay has a peak power of 70kW and consists of 192 state-of-the-art 360Wp monocrystalline silicon modules connected to a 50kW inverter.
This facility has become a reference in the city and is the largest connected to the Centrosur network to date.
Irradia Energía and Intienergías Renovables carried out the consultancy that allowed the distributor to install the first installation on the roofs of its offices. They also participated in the installation of the Balzay Energy Center building, where 35kWp of different technologies have been installed and operating since 2016.
Yesterday’s test installation will serve as a reference for the project of the new campus of the Universidad del Azuay, which will be supplied entirely by renewable energies.
